Sensory integration

Occupational Therapist’s (OTs) play a fundamental role in assessing and providing treatment for people with sensory difficulties. OTs design specific programmes / ‘sensory diets’ and often make environmental adaptations to ensure the child is able to learn, move, develop appropriate behaviours and be as independent as possible.
Children seek activities that provide them with positive sensory experiences. It is this motivation and exploration that enables the children to develop a more mature and efficient way of organising their sensory input.

"The school has used its specialist status extremely well to extend provision for the sensory curriculum"
