Drama
St. Rose’s has a strong tradition of encouraging drama, to enhance the curriculum, promote self esteem and confidence and for the sheer joy of performance. In addition to the day-to-day use of drama within the curriculum, Assemblies and at the Easter and Christmas liturgies, whole school drama performances are staged in the Summer Term, on a rolling programme.
Past performances have included adaptations of The Sound of Music, Mary Poppins, Oliver and Matilda. Pupils participate and communicate using a variety of strategies and assistive communication technology. The benefits to pupils are broad and far reaching. They are involved in all aspects of our performances, including: script writing, rehearsals, costume, props, multi-media special effects, programme production and hospitality for our audiences.
Pupils are proud of their achievements and enjoy their sense of belonging to the school community.
